Dover Castle Ticket Office
The properties manager called me to Dover Castle. They were having trouble cleaning their new ticket office stone flooring.
The floor looked so black, I wasn’t sure what the stone might have been. Having decided to clean a test patch, it soon became evident that it was, in fact Sandstone.
As you can see from the photos, the floor was successfully restored. Natural stone is extremely sensitive to cleaning products. Therefore the correct, safe products and processes need to be used to avoid damage. The flooring was first sprayed with a cleaning solution, rotary scrubbed with an appropriate grade of brush, then finally rinsed and cleaned with our high pressure SX-15, rinse extractor.
Once the floor was totally dry, the stone was then sealed with an impregnating sealer to protect it from ingress of dirt in the future.
