Here at K D Cleaning Specialists we take our work and our clients seriously, and this means that we want to behave responsibly during this outbreak.
I believe in total honesty with my clients, and so to the treatment of Covid-19. There are many posts on Social Media especially, with companies claiming that they can offer 99.99% eradication of the virus either by their cleaning process, or the bactericide, virucide etc that they will apply after cleaning.
So let me be very clear, there is no bactericide, virucide, or anti-microbial treatment on the market in any shape or form that has been tested for effectiveness against Covid-19. The virus is not commercially available for testing to date, and therefore any claims by supplier, manufacturer, or cleaning company that they have a product which is effective against Covid-19 is misleading at best.
It may be proven in time that many existing products are effective against this strain, but presently this is not the case. Despite the fact that many products are effective against many similar virus types. Covid-19 lives longer outside of the body than many others and therefore a products residual kill effect will be paramount.
It doesn’t matter whether the products currently available are sprayed, wiped on, or fogged through a fogging unit, there is no current testing that can prove effectiveness.
Please don’t be fooled by companies making claims that cannot be backed by scientific fact. These are only after capitalising upon our fears, and these companies are like a virus themselves.
Here at K D Cleaning Specialists we are doing our utmost to keep ourselves and our clients safe by washing our hands regularly, cleaning our equipment and generally remaining vigilant.
Just as soap and water for our hands can keep us safe, cleaning of common surfaces, handles, switches etc can help to keep everyone safe.
If you require cleaning of your home furnishings, this can still be undertaken as normal. We can apply a sanitising product afterwards should you desire it but this should in no way be considered as a guaranteed safeguard against Covid-19.
In the next couple of weeks we will be undertaking a specialised infection control course to help position ourselves better in doing all we can to help our clients old and new throughout the duration of this current crisis.
